Amphion
- Acoustic Measurement Amplifier
| The Amphion is a compact
power amplifier, intended for acoustical measurements in the
field or laboratory. The gain is set in 1 dB steps by means of
a tactile step rotary knob and read from a large bright display. The
overload indicator monitors the input, the outputs and the
mains voltage. All controls and connectors are placed on the
front panel, enabling you to set up the Amphion very quickly,
and to operate it in horizontal or vertical position, outside
or inside its flight case.

Remote
control
In particular for sound
insulation and interrupted noise reverberation time measurements,
the Amphion is provided with an RF remote control. Operating at a
distance of up to 100 m, the remote control can be used to switch the built-in pink or white
noise generator, to change the gain, or to select 1 of 2
loudspeaker sound sources, thus allowing a reduction of
measurement setup time.

Line
input and line output
The
line input and line output signal ground is insulated from the
chassis, thereby eliminating ground loop hum and noise. A headphone
can be connected to the line output using the included headphone cable.
To insulate the input ground from the output ground, or for
connection to balanced signals, e.g. through an XLR connector, the
optional CA05 transformer adapter can be used. Very high input signal
levels can be attenuated using the optional CA06 attenuator cable.
